Doctors and Founders
Dr. Brian Zerbe, M.D. is an Ophthalmologist at Solim Med and has been working at Solim Med Eye Clinic since it began in 2011. Dr. Brian Zerbe graduated from Houghton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1996. He graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2000, where he was awarded the Deans Letter of Commendation. He then completed residency training at Albany Medical Center in Albany New York, where he served as chief resident during his final year of training. During residency at Albany Medical College Brian received the Robert D. Reineke research award in 2004 for research on the intraocular pharmakokinetics of voriconazole and in 2005 for research on the Type 1 Boston Keratoprosthesis. He also received the John A. Cetner Good Physician Award in 2005 and 2006, given to one resident annually for excellence in patient care. He then worked for the Glaucoma Practice of New York at the Lion’s Eye Institute prior to coming to Tajikistan. Dr. Brian is a certified diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology in good standing and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Kevin Kummerfeld, M.D. has been in Tajikistan working with Solim Med Eye Clinic since 2014. Dr. Kevin graduated from the University of California at Irvine with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology in 1983. At the University of California at Irvine, he was on the Dean’s Honor List. Dr. Kevin attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine where he received a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988. There he was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for distinguished academic achievement. In 1989, Dr. Kevin completed his Internship in General Internal Medicine, and then from 1989-1992 completed residency training in Ophthalmology at The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Kevin was in private Comprehensive Ophthalmology practice in California for over 20 years. During that time, Dr. Kevin also provided Continuing Education Training for Area Optometrists through the State of California, Board of Optometry as well as providing Clinical Training for Optometry Residents, through the University of California Berkley and VA Medical Center Fresno. Dr. Kevin Kummerfeld, M.D. is a certified diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology in good standing having been recently re-certified active through December 2024 and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Kevin Kummerfeld, M.D. holds a current active license to practice medicine in the State of California.
Dr. Farzona Amonshoeva is an Ophthalmologist at Solim Med Ophthalmology Clinic. She has been working at Solim Med Ophthalmology Clinic since 2015.
In 2006 Dr. Farzona entered the Tajik State Medical University Abuali Ibni Sino. In 2012 she completed her Majestrazya from the Department of Ophthalmology, Tajik State Medical University Abuali Ibni Sino. In 2014 she began her Aspirantura in the Department of Ophthalmology at Tajik State Medical University Abuali Ibni Sino and graduated in 2017.
In 2013 Dr. Farzona began training at Solim Med. Since 2016 Dr. Farzona has also worked one day per week at the Aga Khan Health Service.
Dr. Sayyora Yuldasheva has worked at Solim Med Ophthalmology Clinic since June 2018. In 2003 entered the Tajik State Medical University Abuali Ibni Sino.
In 2009 she graduated from the Tajik State Medical University Abuali Ibni Sino in the Ophthalmology Department. From 2009-2011 she completed her Majestrazya in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Tajik State Medical University.
From 2011-2015 she was a postgraduate student at the Department of Ophthalmology, Tajik State Medical University completing her Aspirantura.
Dr. Daler Sharifov is the Director of Solim Med Clinic and Head Tajik Pediatrician. He has been the director of Solim Med Clinic since 2014. In 2001 Dr. Daler entered the Tajik State Medical University Abuali Ibni Sino. In 2006, he graduated.
In 2007, he completed sub residency in Pediatrics and 2008-2011 completed training at the Medical Health Center.
